LANSING (WKZO) -- Legislation is now before the Michigan House to rename Interstate 94 in Van Buren County for Michigan State Police Trooper Rick Johnson. Johnson was killed in the line of duty in 2000 during a traffic stop when a vehicle slammed into his patrol car, pinning him against the car he had stopped. State Representative Aric Nesbitt of Lawton is pushing for the change to honor the officer. Johnson was 35 when he was killed.
