HOLLAND (WKZO) -- Public safety officials in Holland say a former Wyoming police officer is in custody after pointing a gun at officers while fleeing arrest. According to Holland Police Captain Jack Dykstra, Mark Charles Armstrong held police at bay for about 20 minutes Thursday evening before surrendering to officers.
Armstrong is a 26-year veteran of the Wyoming Police Department who lost his job in 2011 for what were termed violations of rules and regulations. Armstrong is being held on a 30,000-dollar bond after being arraigned Friday.
Police were looking for Armstrong Thursday night after he reportedly made threats and suicidal statements to family members and his ex-girlfriend.
