CHICAGO, IL (WKZO) - It used to be that when Justin Verlander took the mound, Detroit was a pretty good bet to win...not anymore. Verlander allowed 7 runs and 11 hits in six innings, as Chicago salvaged the final game of the four-game series, 7-4. Alexi Ramirez and Tom Flowers each drove in two runs, as Jake Peavy allowed three Tiger home runs, but shut down the rest of the offense, en route to the win. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Detroit, which travels back to the friendly confines of Comerica Park for a weekend series with Philadelphia. Game one is set for Friday, 6:40 pm broadcast time on 590 WKZO.
