KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Alamo Drafthouse Cinema plans to open a combination restaurant and movie theater in October where Kalamazoo's Rave theater used to be located.
CEO Tim League says they've replaced every other row of seating with tables for ordering food and drinks. Movie-goers simply write down their order, and waiters slip in wordlessly, returning with orders a short time later.
The theater chain does not show any advertisements as a policy, and has reserved seating to avoid lines. The theater also has a zero tolerance policy regarding talking and texting during films. Anyone caught doing so will be warned once, then asked to leave without a refund if caught a second time.
The theater plans to have a seasonal made-from-scratch menu with a wide selection of local beers, and they plan to show first-run movies and much more.
