UNDATED (WKZO)-- Saturday was a much nicer day than any other we have had this week as the cold front that moved thru Friday night made outdoor temperatures bearable again.

In fact the heat wave that's scorched the entire Midwest and east coast for the last week is slowly being purged as that cooler air from the north has moved down across the Canadian border and lowered temperatures from Minnesota to Maryland.

The front has been touching off thunderstorms, cancelling ball games, delaying a Pearl Jam Concert at Wrigley Field and giving the grass a much needed drenching.

It has also knocked down branches and caused power outages, primarily in the Kalamazoo area.
