BERRIEN COUNTY (WKZO) -- The search for a missing Portage man has ended in tragedy.
Family members retracing the route of 71-year-old Floyd Roach westward along I-94 came across tire tracks leading off the highway and into a grown over wooded area. The found the spot near the 14-mile marker between Sawyer and Bridgman in Berrien County at about 5:30 p.m. Friday.
They went into the underbrush and found his body lying near his missing Chevy Tahoe.
They suspect he had some sort of medical issue, went off the road, struck a tree and was ejected from the vehicle.
Roach was a retired teacher. He had been missing since last Sunday.
The Michigan State Police are investigating.
