DEARBORN (WKZO) -- Ford Motor Company is offering free software upgrades on its hybrids in order to boost the vehicles' fuel efficiency.
There have been complaints that customers aren't getting the mileage Ford advertises. The company will recalibrate the control systems on the vehicles affected. Those include the C-Max and Fusion as well as Lincoln MKZ hybrids.
Ford will make other modifications as well including reducing the electric fan speed and shortening the engine warm-up time.
