SAINT IGNACE (WKZO) -- Coming up on August third, there will be an attempt to break a Guinness World Record at the Mackinac Bridge. Bridge Authority Administrator Bob Sweeney says that Mini Cooper enthusiasts will try to stage the world's largest parade of Minis that morning.
The goal is to get at least 1,451 Minis to drive across the bridge. Sweeney says they're trying to stage the feat in a way that won't block too much traffic by setting aside just one lane just for the Minis. The minis will also pay their tolls beforehand so they won't have to stop at the booths.
This group is attempting to break the previous Minis parade record, which was set in 2009 in London, with 1,450 Minis.
