DETROIT (WKZO) -- A study shows that colleges in Michigan are more affordable than others across the nation. According to a study by the government’s College Affordability and Transparency Center, Michigan finished near the bottom of the list when it came to how much the net price of college has increased from 2009-2010 and 2010-2011.
According to the study, the net price at Michigan’s public universities dropped by one-point-nine-percent. The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor had the biggest net price drop in the state, at 16.7-percent and Oakland University had the biggest increase, at 18.1-percent.
Michigan was one of nine states with a decline in the new report.
