LANSING (WKZO) -- Charges have been filed against two Detroit-area men for allegedly cheating homeowners out of several hundred-thousand dollars.
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette announced charges against 45-year-old Jeffrey Baker of Detroit and 44-year-old Leroy Yeargin Jr. of Southfield. The men formed a businesses in February 2010 promising homeowners a modification of their current mortgage in exchange for a fee.
Schuette says the company bilked 272 residents out of approximately 400-thousand dollars before closing their business in October of 2010. Baker and Yeargin are scheduled to appear in court on July 15th.
