KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo College Volleyball Coach Jeanne Hess has written a new book on the concept she calls "Sportuality." The idea is to bring sports in America to a new level of civility by getting athletes to think about their sport from a new perspective that she says can help them grow a sense of "peace, understanding, and joy."
Hess tells us that Sportuality comes from a reconsideration words of traditionally used within sports, like "competition," and "victory." She says that if you redefine those concepts, then everyone's sports experience can be more beneficial.
That whole concept is examined at length in "Sportuality: Finding Joy in the Games," Hess' first book. She's also got one coming out soon that's geared more towards the kids. To find out more, follow this link.
