PONTIAC (WKZO) -- General Motors is investing 200-million dollars at a facility in Pontiac as the Detroit-based automaker looks to consolidate powertrain engineering.
Company officials have announced the construction of a 138-thousand square foot addition to its Global Powertrain Engineering Headquarters. When the construction is complete, workers from offices in Warren, Wixom, California and Indiana will be moved into the complex.
Last year, GM said it would transfer hydrogen fuel cell research and development from a facility in New York to Pontiac.
