KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- An ex-con with a history of violence who barricaded himself in a home in Kalamazoo Township Monday night has been charged with a two-year felony.
47-year old Michael Maddox of Kalamazoo is also charged with domestic violence as a second offender for an incident that left a 30-year old woman slightly injured.
That happened at a home on Mosel. He fled to his own home on Seville before police arrived. They followed him home and that’s when the standoff began, after he made threats that he was armed.
Three hours later, a SWAT Team negotiator convinced him to surrender. He is charged with resisting and obstructing a Police Officer.
