TROY (WKZO) -- A Catholic priest who is being investigated for embezzlement from his parish in Troy bought a condominium in Florida in 2005 for 500,000-dollars.

Reverend Edward Belczak purchased the home from his former administrator at St. Thomas More Church.  Janice Verschuren and her now ex-husband sold the property in Wellington, Florida and put the home in a trust in his name in 2011.

Troy Police are investigating a reported 429,000-dollar discrepancy in funds at the church.  Detectives are trying to determine if Belczak paid a ghost employee or stole over 240,000- dollars in the past six years.
