TEXAS TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- A number of fire departments responded to a house fire on Whippoorwill Drive just off 12th street in Texas Township. The Fire was reported around 4 a.m. Wednesday morning.

By the time fire fighters arrived, the occupants, two adults and a child had already escaped the home without injury.

Township crew got help from several fire departments, under mutual aid agreements. They had to truck water to the fire scene because there are no hydrants in the neighborhood.

The home was extensively damage and may be a total loss. It reportedly began in the second floor of the home. No cause has been announced.

The family had reportedly only live in the house for a few weeks.
