TEXAS (WKZO) -- A number of fire departments responded to a house fire on Whippoorwill Drive just off of 12th street in Texas Township around 4 a.m. Wednesday.  The occupants, two adults and a child escaped without injury.

Firefighters had help from several fire departments, under mutual aid agreements.  They have had to truck water to the fire scene because there are no hydrants in the neighborhood.

The home was extensively damaged and may be a total loss.  The fire reportedly began in the second floor of the home.  No cause has been announced.
