OTTAWA COUNTY (WKZO) -- An Ottawa County man has been given one-and-a-half to ten-years in prison for second degree child abuse.

Police say Justin McIntyre became frustrated because his five-week-old son who would not stop crying and violently shook Bently McIntyre, likely causing permanent brain damage.  McIntyre apologized in court.

The abuse occurred last August at McIntyre's home in Ferrysburg.  The infant spent the next three weeks in the hospital, and officials are still not sure how much damage has been done.
