MUSKEGON (WKZO) -- Muskegon County Sheriff Dean Roesler is putting out a warning to residents about a scam involving jury duty. He says his office has received "numerous" phone calls complaining about people receiving phone calls and emails saying they've missed jury duty and are facing a fine of 500-dollars or a jail sentence of 30 days.
In capital letters, Roesler said in a statement that it's a scam and from "something called the Humor Hotline." The sheriff added it's not funny and "creates disruption in the courts and creates unnecessary concerns for innocent citizens."
