KENTWOOD (WKZO) -- Double murder suspect Javonte Higgins is going to stay behind bars in Illinois as he fights extradition to Kent County.

Higgins was taken to a Cook County courtroom yesterday in a high-risk vehicle after he failed to show up the day before.  He was arrested in suburban Chicago on outstanding felony warrants last week and has not yet been charged in Kent County with the murders of David and Vivian Bouwman.

The next court date for Higgins is set for February 20th, which will be his extradition hearing.
