UNDATED (WKZO) -- Roads may be a little improved this morning, depending on whether snow fell last night and where you drive. But it appears that for most of us, the Lake Effect is over for now, a wind shift has taken care of that.

But the bitterly cold temperatures remain.

State Police Sgt. Scott Wilber says he has personally dealt with dozens of wayward drivers this week, and in almost each case, it was the driver’s own darn fault. He says they are invariably going too fast for conditions, or following the car in front of them too closely.

Mother Nature has provided us all with the perfect excuse for being late and we should take advantage of the opportunity.
