LANSING (WKZO) -- Amtrak and Michigan Department of Transportation officials are calling 2012 a great year, with the three routes in the state setting ridership records. Nearly 800-thousand passengers rode the rails in Michigan last year, and revenue was also a record 27.8-million dollars. MDOT officials say an increased awareness of the train service and a positive focus on the future of rail travel helped drive ridership numbers.
