ALLEGAN (WKZO) -- An Allegan man who claims he was growing marijuana for medical marijuana patients was the target of a violent home invasion Sunday night.

They knocked on James Finch’s door at 204 Marshall St. and when he answered it, they rushed in and in the struggle that followed, he was shot in the leg. He is being treated at a Kalamazoo Hospital and should recover.

Apparently his three attackers knew he had grass, but Detective Jay Gibson says they didn’t know he also had surveillance cameras set up around the house. They are circulating the videos in an attempt to identify the home invaders.

They are also trying to verify that Finch was a medical marijuana caregiver.
