GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO) -- A woman is dead following a standoff in northwest Grand Rapids, and police say she took her own life.
Police were trying to execute a search warrant Monday afternoon at a home near Alpine Avenue and Myrtle Street regarding a pair of armed robbery suspects. An 18-year-old man was arrested as he was about to enter a convenience store, and the other suspect, his 19-year-old girlfriend, was in a home across the street.
Police contacted the woman inside the home, but she would not come out. When police entered the home, they found that the woman had shot herself. The woman's two-month-old infant was found in the home uninjured.
