KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Its not only inauguration day, it’s also the Martin Luther King National holiday and there are a number of events planned in Kalamazoo to honor and remember the great civil rights leader. ‘
The day begins this morning with a Community wide day of service. Hundreds of volunteers will be dispatched to non-profit organizations to do a variety of chores.
There will be a convocation at Stetson Chapel at Kalamazoo College at 10:50. There will be a big screen viewing of the inauguration at Miller Auditorium at noon.
The annual March from the Flagpoles on the WMU Campus to Martin Luther King Jr. Park Downtown begins at 3:30.
Bronson and Borgess Hospitals will hold their joint King Celebration in the Lawrence Education Center beginning at 6 p.m. Moses Walker will
Keynote the event with a review of voting rights since 1960.
