HARTFORD (WKZO) -- A 33-year-old Hartford man known to have his license suspended was spotted driving a Jeep Wrangler Sunday just after 3 p.m.
A Van Buren County Sheriff's Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver sped away, eventually sliding through a T-intersection and crashing his vehicle through a cattle gate before fleeing into a wooded area. A K9 unit tracked him to a residence where the suspect tried, but failed, to steal a van in a driveway, and then found him hiding near some trees.
The suspect reportedly fought with the Deputy and the K9 before being taken into custody. Deputies located a meth lab the suspect had fled from the vehicle with and he was taken to the Van Buren County Jail.
