PAW PAW (WKZO) -- A Paw Paw woman who abandoned two pit bulls behind a home in Van Buren County has been given 5 days in jail that she can avoid by working weekends at the Van Buren County Sheriff’s office on a work crew.

Brandi Espinoza was also fined 1220 dollars and given six months probation. The dogs were very thin when they were rescued by animal control.

They have since recovered and are ready for adoption. They have been held as evidence until her court case was dealt with.
