KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- A St. Joseph County Sheriff's Deputy is under arrest for allegedly stealing drugs.
39-year-old Deputy Steven Morris has bonded out of the Kalamazoo County Jail after he was caught stealing a powerful painkiller from the clinic at the St. Joseph County Jail. He has been suspended without pay.
Morris, a veteran of the department who was assigned to the jail is charged with two counts of larceny from a building for allegedly pilfering the prescription drug Tramadol on January 9th. Because he is a deputy, the prosecution has been handed over to Cass County Prosecutor Victor Fitz and he was briefly held at the Kalamazoo County Jail.
