GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO) -- Congressman Justin Amash of Grand Rapids hasn't decided yet which way he will vote on President Obama's ideas for new gun control laws. A spokesman for the conservative second-term Republican says Amash believes the ten-year assault weapons ban from 1994 to 2004 wasn't effective and didn't reduce crime. At the same time, spokesman Will Adams says Amash is open to Obama's ideas on expanding background checks and addressing mental health issues related to gun violence.
