OTSEGO (WKZO) -- It’s not the Kalamazoo Promise, but it will help a number of Otsego High School students with college expenses.
Former Kalamazoo Broadcaster Bud Popke left a 2-million dollar endowment in his will to create a college scholarship program for the school district in Allegan County.
They plan to use the interest from the gift to create about 65-thousand in scholarship money every year. It will be doled out in 15-hundred dollar increments to deserving students.
They plan a February 5th meeting to explain this and other scholarship opportunities to Otsego parents.
