GRANDVILLE (WKZO) -- A car that had broken down on train tracks in Grandville last night was hit by an Amtrak train just before 10 p.m. near Chicago Drive and Ivanrest Avenue Southwest.

Brent Nicholai said he lost a front tire as he was going over the tracks, and the tow truck didn't show up in time to get it moved.  No one was hurt, and Nicholai was not in the vehicle when the train hit it.

The crash delayed the arrival of the passengers on the train for about an hour into Grand Rapids.
