KALAMAZOO (WKZO) --It's one of the worst influenza seasons in years. The death toll nationally includes 20 children including one in Kalamazoo County.
They held a Flu Clinic with free vaccine Friday morning at the Borgess fitness center and the 275 doses went quickly. Val Bauer with the Visiting Nurses Association says they had a long line already when they opened the doors at 7.
She says she has no idea why this flu season has been so bad, but that its more important than usual to get a flu shot to protect yourself.
Pharmacies are struggling to keep this year's flu vaccine in stock. There have been four pediatric flu deaths in the state so far this season, with the fourth death this week spurring long lines for vaccinations.
