KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Two women are in critical condition and their three children injured after a utility vehicle ran a red light, blew thru two stop signs, all at a high rate of speed in the west Douglas Neighborhood, and slammed into a car at Prairie and West Main just before noon Friday.
Assistant Chief Brian Uridge says he doesn’t know why the suspect vehicle was going so fast. Some of it was captured on the Dash cam of a Public Safety Cruiser that initially saw the suspect vehicle run the red light at Douglas and North Street. He says the Police Cruiser never really had a chance to catch up to them. The two cars ended up in the back yard of a home on West Main, one of them upside down. No names have been released.
