WHITE PIGEON TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- Icy roads caught many drivers off guard Wednesday orning and sent many of them sliding into ditches, other vehicles and more solid objects.
The worst of the crashes killed two men and injured a third in Southern St. Joseph County. Sheriff’s deputies say that a van carrying 7 men from Indiana to a construction site in Three Rivers slid off Fawn River Road crashed, into a small grove of trees, and rolled over around 6:40AM.
Dead at the scene were 48-year-old Dan Graber and 50-year-old Chris Eicher. A third man was airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
His name and condition were not released.
The accident remains under investigation and the driver, 30-year-old Kirk Miller of Keystone Indiana could be facing charges, or at least a citation for driving too fast for conditions.
