SHELBY (WKZO) -- It was back to business as usual Tuesday at a Salvation Army store in Shelby Township after the Michigan State Police bomb squad was called when some unusual items were found in a donation box.
Authorities were called to the store at 23 Mile and Van Dyke Monday afternoon when workers found three grenades that were apparently dropped off over the weekend. The store and other nearby businesses were evacuated as the devices were detonated.
Police say the grenades were found in a box with other items and don't believe the person who made the donation had any malicious intent.
