COLDWATER (WKZO) -- Authorities in Coldwater are asking for anyone who might have seen a car-pedestrian accident midmorning Tuesday at the intersection of East Chicago and Michigan Avenue.

The victim was walking across the street when he was struck by a driver behind the wheel of a Ford Focus that was headed northbound.   Police have released the name of the driver, John Starr of Coldwater, but not the name of the pedestrian, who was airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo with serious injuries.

Coldwater Public Safety Director Mark Bartell says neither speed nor alcohol were involved.
