The U.S. Secretary of State, who was hospitalised in New York over the holidays, is the subject of a new screenplay which tells the story of her university days, her romance with husband Bill and her rise to the role of America's First Lady.

The story reportedly focuses on the agonising decision when she had to choose between her budding career in Washington, D.C. and her relationship with Bill.

The film is currently titled Rodham after her birth name.

Clinton hit headlines last week (ends30Dec12) when she was hospitalised in New York after doctors found a blood clot close to her brain. She has since been discharged and is recovering at home, with plans to return to work next week (beg07Jan13).
