KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- They aren’t calling it suspicious, but a fire that began in the second story of a vacant home in the Edison neighborhood is being investigated by the city’s fire marshal. An alert neighbor spotted smoke comng from the home at the corner of Washington and wells at about 2:16 Saturday morning.
Fire Crews went inside to search for anyone who might be inside and to begin attacking the flames.
That’s when they discovered it appeared to be vacant. It took them about an hour to extinguish and get all the hot spots.The home suffered extensive damage to the second floor.
