DETROIT (WKZO) -- A recent audit shows that the City of Detroit has a deficit of roughly 327-million dollars. The latest annual audit for the fiscal year that ended in June shows a deficit that increased more than 130-million dollars.
According to members of Mayor Dave Bing's financial staff, the numbers are not surprising. Efforts to cut the deficit routinely resulted in disputes between the Bing administration, the City Council and municipal labor unions.
