DETROIT (WKZO) -- The number of flu cases in Michigan continues to climb. A third child and at least two adults have died from the influenza virus this flu season.
As of December 27th, there were over 250 confirmed cases of the flu, up from 150 cases the previous week. According to officials with the Michigan Department of Community Health, usually this volume of cases isn’t seen until much later in the flu season.
The 2011-2012 flu season saw over 1,100 confirmed cases of the virus in Michigan, however no children died.
