DETROIT (WKZO) -- Lakes Michigan and Huron have never been this low for December since records started to be kept. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says December's level for the lakes, which are considered one body of water, broke the record low by one centimeter. The Corps says the preliminary mean level for the lake in December was 576.15-feet, down from the 1964 record of 576.2-feet.
