UNDATED (WKZO) – Many Michiganders and tourists are dusting off their skis and heading to the slopes to enjoy the winter sport season. Barry Owens, general manager of Treetops Resort in northern Michigan, has confirmed that ski resorts and parks throughout the state now have enough snow to open their slopes to those eagerly awaiting winter activities.
One new activity returning this year to Treetops Resort, located in Gaylord, MI, is being called extreme tubing. The newly invented recreational activity uses an oversized tube to race down the hillside where a tow rope is ready to take participants right back up for another turn. Extreme tubing may not be as good of a workout as regular skiing and snowboarding, but Owens guarantees that after just a one hour session, anyone would be hooked.
