STURGIS (WKZO) -- Sturgis Police have arrested a suspect in an assault case.
Shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday, officers were called to the 600-block of East West Street on a report of a woman refusing to leave an address, and that she was armed with a gun. The suspect had left prior to officers arriving at the address, but she was found a short while later walking in the area of North Prospect and East West Street.
After speaking with witnesses, the 33-year-old woman from Sturgis was arrested. A search warrant helped to locate a pistol at the woman's residence. She was lodged at the St. Joseph County Jail on charges of felonious assault and malicious destruction of property.
