Tigers score early and often in 11-2 win over Rays

Port Charlotte, FL (WKZO) – Anibal Sanchez tossed three scoreless innings and Nick Castellanos recorded three hits in as many at bats as the Tigers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 11-2 on Thursday afternoon.

Miguel Cabrera went 2 for 4 with an RBI double in the first inning, knocking in the Tigers first run.

Austin Jackson hit his first home run this spring in the sixth inning, a two run shot, increasing the Tigers lead to 5-2.

Danny Worth went 2 for 2, with a double, a RBI and a run scored.

The Tigers scored six runs in the ninth inning

Ryan Robowski allowed both runs to the Rays in the fourth inning.

Justin Verlander will make the start tomorrow after the New York Mets.
