University Park, PA (WQLR) – Down 15 with 12:45 left, Penn State looked as if they were going to fall to 0-15 in B1G play. But the Nitty Lions outscored the Wolverines 33-12 from then on and upset the Wolverines 84-78 on Wednesday night.
Tim Hardaway Jr. had 19 and Trey Burke finished with 18 for Michigan who are now two games behind Indiana for the Big Ten lead.
Michigan was up 39-36 at halftime.
Penn State had lost 18 Big Ten games in a row dating back to last season.
Michigan faces off with Michigan State on Sunday afternoon at 4.
