PAW PAW (WKZO) -- A Paw Paw woman is facing charges after police say she crashed her car into a utility pole and then tried to flee.

The Van Buren County Sheriffs department says that the 33-year-old was drunk when she hit the pole in the 100-block of West Michigan Avenue in Paw Paw.  Neither she nor her 34-year-old male passenger were hurt.

When deputies arrived, they found the woman allegedly attempting to leave the scene.  She's now lodged in the Van Buren County Jail for operating while intoxicated, second offense.  Her blood alcohol level, according to police, was 0.223.
