KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Three of the four families that were left homeless by the fire at Interfaith Apartments on Monday have been moved into different units at the complex, after a week long drive by area churches to collect furniture and clothing.
Pastor Michael Scott, President of the Northside Ministerial Alliance says they have tried their best to make sure they are returning to a place with beds and dressers, TVs and all the things they need to make an apartment into a home.
They were able to get local furniture stores to contribute beds and mattresses and other sources have donated dressers and other pieces of furniture.
The Red Cross and others were able to contribute clothes, and able to keep them housed until the new units could be secured.
The cause of the fire that killed three young children is still being investigated.
The management of Interfaith Apartments also deserve credit for finding space for the families.
