Kalamazoo, MI (WQLR) – After splitting their weekend series against Ohio State, the WMU hockey team has dropped from six to eight in the USCHO.com college hockey rankings. North Dakota and St. Cloud State leaped over the Broncos in the rankings.
The Broncos earned a shootout win over the Buckeyes on Friday night and then were defeated 6-3 on Saturday evening. While the Broncos fell in the rankings, they remain in second place, two points behind Miami (OH) in the CCHA standings. Western welcomes No. 11 Notre Dame to Lawson Arena this weekend for two games. Notre Dame trail WMU by one point in the CCHA standings. WMU and Notre split a weekend series back in November in South Bend.
