PINE GROVE TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- Two neighbors sharing a few alcoholic beverages in the 26-thousand block of County Road 388 near Kendall apparently got into a heated argument that turned physical late Friday night.

The home-owner grabbed a hatchet and struck his neighbor in the head with the blunt end of the tool.

The 44-year-old victim fled to his own home and called 9-1-1. He was subsequently taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of a large laceration on the top of his head.  He is expected to recover. 

Deputies obtained the phone number of the man with the hatchet and asked him to come out to discuss the conflict. He complied and was subsequently arrested and jailed for felonious assault.
