ALMENA TOWNSHIP (WKZO)-- A one vehicle crash near the Kalamazoo-Van Buren County Line has resulted in the arrest of two women.
Van Buren County Deputies say the driver of a 2000 Grand Prix, a woman from Kalamazoo was intoxicated and so were all of her passengers when the car went out of control on M-43 near the Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery and landed in a ditch just after 5 a.m. Saturday.
Deputies were called by the wrecker driver who was called by the occupants of the car. The Pontiac suffered severe front end damage but there were no injuries.
The 20-year-old driver admitted she had had a couple of drinks prior to the crash. She registered a .11 on a breathalyzer test and was subseqently arrested for driving while under the influence.
A 21-year-old passenger named Vivian Lee had two outstanding contempt warrants out of Kalamazoo and Coldwater and was turned over to Kalamazoo County Deputies.
