BIG RAPIDS (WKZO) -- A Ferris State Student was blue and unresponsive when they pulled him out of a the snow early Friday morning. He may have been there for several hours wearing only a t-shirt with no coat after apparently getting drunk at a nearby party on a bottle of schnapps and wandering out into the weather.
Big Rapids Police Officer Miguel Galley says 18-year-old Nick Suttles of Kent County had a 70-degree body temperature and no pulse when they found him lying in a depression in a snow bank.
E.M.T.’s were able to restore a weak heartbeat and he remains listed in critical condition at last word at Spectrum Health.
Misdemeanor charges may be pursued against the hosts of the party for serving drinks to minors, but apparently Suttles brought his own bottle to the gathering.
